So Much More Than a Bookstore

It was never our dream to just sell books. From the beginning, we also wanted to spread the joy of literature through discussion and engagement and help connect our community with the people behind the books. As part of this goal, we host monthly fiction and non-fiction book clubs in addition to regular book signings and speaking events from authors and notable literary figures.

These events offer readers and non-readers alike the opportunity to hear authors speak about their life and their work and to learn from some of New Zealand’s most respected artistic minds. Our events are hosted with the help of Cinema Paradiso and have quickly gained a reputation as one of Wānaka’s most interesting cultural experiences.

  Classics - Thursday, 24th September, 5.30pm - Down and Out in Paris and London / The Sheltering Sky
  Non-Fiction - Thursday, 1st October, 5.30pm - The Living Mountain / The Language of War
  Poetry - Saturday, 29th August, 11am.
