Neighbours Looking for the Next Chapter in Life
At the start of 2020, Jenny Ainge approached close friend and long-time neighbour Sally Battson with an idea about opening up a bookshop. The pair had always bonded over a love of reading and shared a belief that Wanaka needed a dedicated home for quality literature and lovers of the written word.
Opening in October 2020, The Next Chapter quickly found support amongst Southern Lakes locals for its carefully curated selection of engaging and award-winning titles and memorable author events. Forming a mini cultural hub in conjunction with Cinema Paradiso, The Next Chapter has become a valued addition to Wanaka’s retail landscape and a quiet haven away from the hustle and bustle of town, where visitors can escape to explore the latest additions to the shelves or relax in the shade with a recent purchase.
